General Information

Origins

This website was created around 2000 by then Northcliffe Telecentre manager Kate Haslam. Since that time the Telecentre has become the Northcliffe Community Resource Centre and moved from our old Mill house into purpose built premises in the centre of town. We are a not-for-profit tasked with the promotion of the Social, Economic and Business Development within the town. Kate maintained the website on a volunteer basis, after her retirement as Manager, until 2014. We now maintain and develop the content 'in house'.

Interested parties can submit bids for three months of coverage in our 'Featured' space on the Northcliffe home page. The feature is changed on 1 February, 1 May, 1 August, 1 November.

This Northcliffe website is consistently amongst the top 5 Google Australia results for internet searches for Northcliffe and in our experience is usually in second and third place, after a low value Wikipedia entry. Bids start at $55 inc. GST. All bids must be received two weeks prior to the feature placement date. You will be invited to submit a higher bid if you are outbid.

Where a free feature is currently occupying the slot we will place a new feature without delay for $55 inc. GST, pro rata (That is, we will only charge you for the portion of the three month period remaining, during which your content will be featured. To continue coverage into the following three month period you will need to submit a bid.

The aim, for us, of this program is to add value to the website and to raise funds to assist us to maintain and host this community website. Northcliffe Community Resource Centre is a not-for-profit Association managed by volunteers from the local community.

Business and Retail Listings

Listings on our Business and Retail page come in 'Standard' and 'Members' variety. accommodation providers, artists, food and entertainment businesses are covered differently.

Standard Listings

Free Listings for businesses are restricted to local (Northcliffe) entities, except where there are no providers of the service located in Northcliffe. All listings are offered at the discretion of the Northcliffe Community Resource Centre. Supply us the following information:

  • Title of Business and or name of Propietor/s
  • Description of Business up to 100 words
  • Contact details which can include Physical Address, Phone, Fax, Email and Website

Members' Listings

Membership of the Northcliffe Community Resource Centre is rather cheap ($33 per year incl. GST. for a Business Membership). As well as paying the fee you will need to complete a form and be approved as a member by our committee. Businesses who are Members of the Northcliffe Community Resource Centre can receive additional online coverage.

  • Business Listings for non-Northcliffe businesses
  • A photo or image alongside your listing

Community Groups and Services Listings

Listings on our Community Groups and Services page come in 'Standard' and 'Members' variety. accommodation services, artists and food businesses are covered differently.

Standard Listings

Free Listings for community groups are restricted to local (Northcliffe) entities and are offered at the discretion of the Northcliffe Community Resource Centre. Supply us the following information:

  • Title of Community Group/ Service
  • Up to three contact people
  • Description of Community Group/ Service and Activities up to 200 words
  • Contact details which can include Physical Address, Phone, Fax, Email and Website

Members' Listings

Membership of the Northcliffe Community Resource Centre is rather cheap ($33 per year incl. GST. for a Community Group Membership). As well as paying the fee you will need to complete a form and be approved as a member by our committee. Community Groups who are Members of the Northcliffe Community Resource Centre can receive additional online coverage.

  • Community Group Listings for non-Northcliffe groups
  • A photo or image alongside your listing
  • Up to two additional link/s to relevant websites, in addition to the link to the Group's own website

Artist Listings

Artist and Arts Groups Listings are provided to help promote and support creativity in Northcliffe. Listings are Free.

Standard Listings

Free Listings for artist groups are restricted to local (Northcliffe) entities and are offered at the discretion of the Northcliffe Community Resource Centre. Supply us the following information:

  • Title of artist/ arts activity
  • Description up to 300 words
  • Up to four sample images
  • Contact details which can include Physical Address, Phone, Fax, Email and Website
  • Inclusion of your website on our partners and links page

Members' Privileges

Membership of the Northcliffe Community Resource Centre is rather cheap ($12 per year incl. GST. for an Individual Membership). As well as paying the fee you will need to complete a form and be approved as a member by our committee. Artists who are Members of the Northcliffe Community Resource Centre receive free assistance for preparing images for online presentation on the Northcliffe website.

Food, Entertainment and accommodation Listings

Listings on our Food, Entertainment and accommodation pages come in 'Standard' and 'Visitor Centre Member' varieties.

Standard Listings

Free Listings for food and entertainment businesses and accommodation services are restricted to local (Northcliffe) entities and are offered at the discretion of the Northcliffe Community Resource Centre. Supply us the following information:

  • Title of Business and or name of Propietor/s
  • Description of Business up to 200 words
  • Contact details which can include Physical Address, Phone, Fax, Email and Website
  • One image per free listing

Northcliffe Visitors Centre Members' Listings

Contact the visitor centre for details on obtaining membership. Phone 08 9776 7203 or Email . To support the Northcliffe Visitor Centre we provide their members additional online services:

  • Listings for non-Northcliffe accommodation, Food and Entertainment Listings
  • Up to three additional photos or image alongside your listing
  • Privileged positioning opportunities where they arise

Other Terms and Conditions

The form, content and existence of a listing is the final decision and responsibility of the Northcliffe Community Resource Centre.

While we have attempted to document all listing policies above, for free and Members' listings, from time to time we will feature or provide privileged coverage for other business and community enterprises and individuals who we believe are contributing to the welfare of Northcliffe in the terms of the mission and values of the Northcliffe Community Resource Centre, or where where we believe such coverage will be of benefit to website users.

By providing us material for listings, including text, images and photos, you warrant the right for us to use this material in your listing.

Corrections

Listings are dependent on contributors providing us the relevant up to date information.

We will take down listings where we are unsure if the information remains relevant or up to date. Please contact us as soon as any of your relevant information requires updating on the website.
